You may not want that old sofa or tea set any more – but there might be someone just round the corner who does.

Lurking in sheds, attics and cupboards all over Cornwall are items that are too good to throw away, but are not loved or needed any more, things we don’t WANT to throw away but don’t have the space to keep or maintain. Things someone else could get much more enjoyment out of.

Our Goal is to join people who have things they want to get rid of with people who can use them and to keep usable items out of landfills.

Cornwallgiveaway is a free network of local towns/groups where you can give stuff away when you want to get rid of it – but don’t want to throw it away because it still has some useful life left in it.

Or if there’s something you’d like, perhaps someone has just what you need that they don’t want any more.

Unwanted items are getting reused in their communities via cornwallgiveaway.

Everyone and any organisation are welcome to join.

Want to help Represent the passion and commitment behind the scenes which enable cornwallgiveaway recycling groups to function as a non-profit gifting movement.


Thanks for all the good you are doing and making this forum possible.

If you are keen on helping our environment, have access to a computer and perhaps half an hour or so a day to spare, how about offering to help the moderator team run your local cornwallgiveaway group.

If you can’t find a group near you, why not start one up, and become a moderator of one in your community. It’s easy, great fun and you’d be doing the environment and your local community a huge favour. Maybe you currently run a group which you’d like to affiliate your group with cornwallgiveaway network, please message or email the administrator of cornwallgiveaway.


How can you help moderate?:

  • Help run your local cornwallgiveaway town/group.
  • Help promote your local cornwallgiveaway group to the general public and local businesses.
  • Let your facebook and twitter friends know about your local cornwallgiveaway group.
  • If you subscribe to any forums, post your local cornwallgiveaway group website address link, encourage forum members to join and post items.
  • Contact your local city or council and ask them to post this forum on their website.



plans to:

  • increase the number of moderators who are responsible for monitoring the forum pages dealing with messages and helping maintain the forum.
  • increase the number of members by promoting cornwallgiveaway to the general public and local businesses

Desirable skills and knowledge are:

  • Knowledge of recycling
  • Experience of running events
  • Knowledge of moderating forums
  • Commitment to the development of local communities
